Adult Show & Tell Night

Remember Show & Tell at school, when you’d proudly bring in your favourite toy, a cool rock, or something your mum absolutely insisted was fascinating?

Well, we’re bringing it back — but for adults (18+ please)

Join us for a wholesome evening of sharing the things that mean something to you. Bring along an heirloom, a treasured keepsake, something a loved one left you, a beloved collection, or simply something you think is really, really cool.

Maybe you have your grandmother’s favourite teacup. Maybe you collect vintage postcards. Maybe you have a truly impressive collection of rocks. Maybe you own the greatest Star Trek ship known to humankind and have been patiently waiting for someone to ask about it. (Yes my partner would love someone to ask him about his Star Trek ships!)

This is your moment!

You don’t have to be a collector and your item doesn’t have to be valuable. We’re interested in the stories behind the things we keep. The odd little objects, sentimental treasures and niche passions that make us who we are. 

It’s completely free to attend and you’re welcome to come along whether you have something to show or simply fancy hearing what everyone else has brought.

Now a couple of important rules! 

• No pets, please. We love dogs. We really do. But the bookshop cannot currently accommodate an entire zoo.
  There is one notable exception if Kelsie turns up with a lamb though. 
• Yes the item can be rude. It is an over 18 night for a reason however please keep your privates private.
  As wholesome as this evening is intended to be, we feel this particular form of show and tell is best left at home. Thank you for your cooperation.  ;)
