About The Midweek Book Club

Because this book club meets during the day midweek and is open to all book genres. 

Some of the genres you can expect to read in this club are 

• Book Club Fiction: Also known as "upmarket" fiction, these novels feature complex characters, powerful themes, and moral dilemmas. They are specifically chosen because they provoke deep, impassioned group discussions.
• Literary & Contemporary Fiction: Focuses on character development, social commentary, and beautiful prose set in present or recent times. 
• Mystery, Thriller, & Suspense: Centres on crime, psychological tension, "whodunit" mysteries, and page-turning plot twists.
• Historical Fiction: Explores specific eras in the past, blending researched historical settings with fictional storylines.
• Sci-Fi & Fantasy: Explores imaginative worlds, futuristic technology, magic, or dystopian societies. 
• Romance:  Character-driven stories centered on romantic love between people, which traditionally feature an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending. 

Anyone but this is an adult book club and adult themes will be discussed.

For all adult book clubs we say you must be over 16.  Please note adult themes may be discussed.

The membership is £5.00 per month.

We meet once a month at The Quill & Quiver shop. Please see the events page for specific dates and times. 

Come along anyway, life happens, we don't hold it against anyone.

We want to make sure everyone enjoys what they are reading so the book group are consulted each month however the final decision lies with The Quill & Quiver. There may be themes from time to time eg October may relate to Halloween in some way.
